February 1, 2002, Newsletter Issue #18: Paddling out

Tip of the Week

Sure, you´re eager to hit the waves, but spare a thought for those already surfing. When paddling out, take care to avoid other surfers doing their thing. The wave belongs to them while they´re on it. Better yet, enter the surf further down from major congregations of other surfers. Give way or expect to feel the lash of their tongue, or at worst, a smack in the mouth.
