May 20, 2005, Newsletter Issue #89: Check Your Sunscreen Supply

Tip of the Week

Check Your Sunscreen Supply

With Memorial Day just around the corner, it’s time to check your sunscreen supply. If you haven’t the slightest idea when you bought that bottle, it’s best to just toss it out to the curb & start your season off with a fresh bottle.

Avoid buying sunscreen at your local discount store, unless the display case is fully loaded. A sparse shelve could indicate that it is last season’s “leftovers” that the store manager wants to move before releasing the new stock.

Always buy your sunscreen from a reliable source. Resist the temptation to stock up or to buy sunscreen at the end of the season or to buy it in bulk (large size bottles) unless you know it is going to get used. Take it slow at first or you’ll get burned … remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither is that First Tan of the Season!
